Field Training
The final step in the training program allows students to get real hands-on experience in the field. Once students have completed both classroom and shop training they will have the skills required to try their hand in the field.
There is no better practical training than in the field training, where safety, solutions and cost savings can be identified and carried out. This phase of the course gives welders the experience and knowledge to do the actual job to the highest of standards. Our instructors have taught welding classes on all Class 1 Railroads, numerous Shortlines and Transit Systems, and fabricating shops. Our experienced and qualified instructors started as welding apprentices and progressed through the railroad industries, they have extensive knowledge and experience.
Field training includes:
- Inspection of welding equipment and accessories used for welding on your track components
- Inspection of track components
- Actual field weld repair on track components with your equipment and welders
All parts of the training must be completed.
